Counselor’s Tip of the Week:
Quarantine can be tough. A lot of students may be struggling with feelings of isolation, hopelessness, and feeling generally unmotivated to complete work. Here are a few tips to help your student get the most out of their time.
- Establish a routine for each day: Set the alarm, even if it’s for mid-morning. Get up around the same time and follow a routine each day.
- Continue with your regular hygiene schedule: If you showered every day before all this, do that. Brush your teeth, too.
- Be sure to stick to three meals a day (and 1-2 snacks): No grazing. Keep your body on a regular eating schedule. Your tummy will thank you.
- Break work up into smaller sections: Tackle hard things first and give yourself plenty of breaks.
- Get some sleep: Keep your systems regulated with a regular sleeping schedule (it helps digestion and most importantly right now, your immune system, function at their best.
